Since the first lab shaker was introduced in 1946, New Brunswick shakers have been one of the most widely used products in the industry. Manufactured with premium Eppendorf quality, New Brunswick lab shakers continue to take a leading position in virtually all global markets.

Made of the highest-quality materials, with superior design and precision fabrication, we guarantee our lab shakers will provide worry-free operation for many years to come.
Incubated lab shakers

If the growth atmosphere needs to be controlled (e.g. temperature and photosynthetic light) and medium or high throughput is needed, an incubated lab shaker is necessary. Usually, incubated lab shakers are grouped based on any of the following criteria:

› Temperature control: cooling for a minimum of 4 °C, heating for a maximum of 80 °C
› Speed range (25 – 500 rpm)
› Position in the lab (benchtop, under bench or stackable floor models)
› Stackability (2- or 3-fold)
› Capacity and throughput: vessel type, size and capacity
› Mode of loading (front vs. top loading)
› CO2 control
› Photosynthetic light

Eppendorf offers incubated lab shakers for all the criteria above.

Open-air lab shakers

For shaking in ambient conditions, on the bench, or in a warm or cold room or heated chamber, open-air lab shakers are used. Eppendorf offers six New Brunswick™ Innova® open-air lab shakers designed for reliable 24/7 shaking of flasks up to 6 L (depending on model), microplates and test tubes. Long-term vibration-free shaking at 25 to 500 rpm is supported by a New Brunswick robust cast-iron triple-eccentric counterbalanced lab shaker drive and a solid state, DC brushless motor.

Available shaking orbits:

› 1.9 cm (0.75 in): Innova 2000, 2050, 2100, 2150

› 2.5/5.1 cm (0.5 in): Innova 2300 and 2350

Available shaking platforms (depending on shaker model):

Dedicated shaker platforms (with pre-installed clamps for one vessel format - for maximum capacity – check availability for individual open-air lab shaker model)
› Erlenmeyer flasks (25 mL – 2 L)

Universal shaker platform (for maximum flexibility to mix vessel types and sizes)
› Erlenmeyer flasks (10 mL – 6 L)
› 2 L Lauber Thomson flasks
› 2.8 L Fernbach flasks
› Microplate shaker racks
› Test tube shaker racks

Sticky pad shaker platforms

A very versatile open-air lab shaker regarding orbit choice and different vessel types is the Innova 2300. It also offers an optional "quick-change" platform kit for frequent, tool-free platform changes and up to eight Innova 2300 open-air lab shakers can be fitted into a specialized racking system.

Lab Shaker Accessories

Eppendorf offers a wide range of accessories for lab shakers to provide full flexibility for your processes.

1) Lab shaker platforms

Different lab shaker platforms are available to provide you with the right balance between vessel capacity, vessel type flexibility, handling speed, and regarding necessary shaking speeds:

› Dedicated platforms
› Universal platforms
› Sticky pad platforms

Universal lab shaker platforms are the best choice when a high degree of vessel type flexibility is needed, e.g. to mix different vessel types and sizes. These platforms come with multiple screwing holes that allow virtually any combination of lab shaker clamps and other accessories.

Dedicated lab shaker platforms are used when just one flask size will be used and highest possible capacity is needed. Dedicated platforms come complete with clamps installed.

With sticky pad platforms or a sticky pad adapter kit (when using on a universal platform) virtually any vessel type with flat bottom can be attached. Specialized removable and reusable adhesive mats called sticky pads are necessary for this. Sticky pad allows shaking speeds up to 200 – 250 rpm (depending on orbit). For higher speeds, lab shaker clamps should be the preferred choice. Discover all lab shaker platforms.

2) Flask clamps for lab shakers

Eppendorf flask clamps for lab shakers are made of a single piece stainless-steel construction (not spot welded or riveted) for added strength and safety. All flask clamps come with coiled wire springs for added safety and stability at higher shaking speeds. Flasks clamps for 2, 2.8, 4 and 6 L and higher volumes come with an extra girdle for added security.

Available clamps for lab shakers:
› Erlenmeyer flask clamps (10 mL – 6 L)
› 2.8 L Fernbach flask clamps
› 2 L Lauber Thompson flask clamps

3) Test tube racks and microplate racks for lab shakers

Eppendorf offers 18 different shaker racks for various test tubes with diameters between 8 –  30 mm. Racks come with an adjustable angle (to optimize media oxygenation), tube height support, and are made of stainless-steel with specialized inserts. These inserts help to retain tubes and prevent them from spinning in the shaker rack.

Two different lab shaker racks for microplates are available: for stacks (three deepwell plates or nine standard plates) or single layers (five plates). In addition, universal lab shaker platforms are also compatible with microplate screening systems like the Duetz System.

4) Racking system for open-air lab shakers

You are operating multiple Innova 2300 open-air lab shakers and you need to save lab space? The new Brunswick Innova 5050 is a sturdy, stainless-steel lab shaker rack that can hold up to four Innova 2300 with flasks up to 2 L. This number can be increased to eight with the Innova 5051 rack extension. The lab shaker racking system is delivered pre-assembled and with removable, height-adjustable shelves.
